13 Days to Go...

Jenny & Mali made it safe and sound! I was so glad when they finally arrived. I tried to stay busy all day so I would not grow impatient, as I tend to do. They made it just in time for dinner, we had taco's! Gotta use up some of these dang tomatoes! I think Jim planted enough to feed an army. I'm taking a whole bunch of them with me to the BBQ tomorrow! They are over-running the place!!
Today, I took Jenny around and showed her some of the places that are "home" to me. I lived in many, many different houses between Kansas City and Vista Missouri. Of course I didn't show her every single one today, just the ones closests and a few other things, like where I broke my ankle, where I accepted Christ, where I went to Church, where I had a finder-bender, where I used to swim and party, where David and I met, and where Mom used to always take me when she needed to "talk" didn't matter if it was good or bad. I showed her alot of dirt roads - I'm sure she's probably thinkin' "how did she live with all this dust!" I showed her the cememtary where my grandparents plan to be burried, their old home (the one my grandpa built) and several schools I attended. It took about oh 4 hours, just for the things I did show her, but those things although they are spread all over and I never lived in the same house...they are home. It was nice to show someone, my friend, what home is to me - and to have some one see I was for REAL about how "small town" I am. She saw the football feild at one school, and I mentioned going to many a game there and she said "oh, that's where the games are? I thought it was a practice field!!!" haha It was great.
Then we ran to the grocery store to get somethings for tomorrows big BBQ! I hope to get lots of good pictures and make some memories to store in my heart and keep me warm while I'm away. I hope that for all 4 of us. I'm so glad Jenny was able to come.
After that we kinda just vegged out. Spent sometime sitting outside enjoying the beautiful weather and just talking. It's nice to have someone to just talk to. We talk about so many things.
David is battling allergies really bad. This is really the wrong time for him to be in Missouri! haha...but I wouldn't want him anywhere else. Good thing his mom has allergies too and has some eye drops on hand.
Anyway - tomorrow is the BBQ and stuff and I may get in late tomorrow...so not sure how tomorrows blog will go! But I'll chat with you all soon. God Bless and have a Safe Holiday weekend.
