Well, if you've visited my blog recently then you've seen the pictures from our trip. I didn't blog about it when I posted the pictures because - well I was simply being utterly lazy yesterday! I edited and uploaded the photos and watched tv, such a taxing day haha.
Anyway - we had a great time on the trip. It seemed rather slow getting there, but I'd never been there before and so I don't know. On the way there we stopped at some little market area and I'm not entirely sure for what reason. So the kids & I found a toilet and a little bit of lunch and then it was time to go again.
When we reached Great Yarmouth - Chaz, kept an eye out for us and made sure we were well taken care of. Apparently, some people did not eat at the 1st stop and so we went to eat again - I did not eat - as I'd already eaten and wasn't hungry. The kids however, did eat a little bit.
Then we all walked down the road (reminded me of the Branson Missouri Strip) and a few people in the group paid for the kids to do this and that. They spoiled the kids, made sure they got to ride rides, get ice cream, and have a good time. I took plenty of money - but I didn't spend it all - everyone was so nice and always asking the kids "Do you wanna have a go?" or "try this?"
It was really great to enjoy the time with good friends and it was exactly what I needed after my "Rude Neighbors" experience. Wow! Okay - moving on.
I was very thankful that to Chaz, John, Kim, Hannah, John, Tom, Margaret, and 3 others for their kindness. They made sure we did not get lost, that we had something to eat, drink, and did not run out of money, and most importantly that we had a good time. I think I'm going to make them all thank you cards. You don't find people who are not only friendly but giving as well very often. I really appreciated them showing us around. I think they enjoyed watching the kids have a good time.
On the way home we stopped off at a Pub - that has the same name as the one next door and it's street name is also the same! It was a very nice Pub and quiet a bit bigger than the one next door, but I don't know that it would have the same "homey" atmosphere. Some places have this and some places have that, some places might look a little better or do things a little better...but not every place feels the same.
You know the sitcom "CHEERS"? Where everybody knows your name? That's the kinda place the Pub next door is. If they don't know you're name when you walk in, they'll know it before you leave. I really enjoy visiting with my Pub friends and I enjoy the atmosphere there. You wouldn't get that type of atmosphere just anywhere. Know what I mean?
After we left there and continued our journey home the driver turned on some music - most of it I didn't know, but some of them I did. The great thing about it though was the fact that probably 3/4's the people on the Coach were singing. It was just good - if you know what I mean. Made you smile, made you laugh...it was great.
Brier fell asleep on me before we made it back so I had to carry him off the coach, into the house, and up to bed...and that kid has gotten rather HEAVY! I didn't realize how heavy he had gotten. He slept til like 10 the next day - he was thoroughly worn out. Thank heavens! :)
Ashlynn was pretty worn out too. She was awake when we returned as her and Laura (another girl about her age that was on the trip) were chatting and having themselves a good time. They decided to have a bit of Karaoke next door after the trip and so Laura came over here and visited with Ashlynn a bit longer.
I went next door but only for a moment - I wanted to get home and call David for an update. However, he happened to be in the ICU room at that time and was unable to have his phone on, so I talked to him yesterday. Jim is still on the ventilator and not doing well. So please keep him and our family in your prayers.
Anyway - I our first coach trip was great - so I hope any others we go on will be good also. My Mom will be here in about oh 17 days I think! I've got lost of fun stuff planned for us to do, I can't wait to see her. I'm so excited and the kids are seriously ready for some company.
I could tell Saturday that Brier was missing his Daddy pretty good. He hung on John and Chaz almost the whole time. Thankfully, Chaz & John knew why and didn't have a problem hugging him, letting him ride on their shoulders, or picking on him. It was wonderful. I really owe them some brownies or something :)
Well - that's it for now, time to get off my butt and get something done around here. Talk to you again soon.
