Well, it's been an interesting first 2 1/2 weeks with Lady. She wants nothing but love! She still thinks she's a lap dog and has yet to realize her size - but oh well. She has quiet the personality! She lets us know when she is not happy about something by these huge sighs! It's very funny and she belches! And oh my! Ewww! She got to play in the snow on Monday with the kids, we had about 3-4 inches of snow and it was a SNOWDAY! Shocker, but great! Lady now has appointments for 3 things.
She gets all her shots and things on the 10th. Then on the 13th she gets a date at the groomers - a Valentine present! haha No, really a few days after having her, she went into season (heat) and that my friend is a terrible mess! Unless your planning on breeding a dog - I do not advise it! I've been cleaning carpets all weekend. Thankfully it is almost over! And even more thankfully she has an appointment the end of April to be spayed...we will NOT go through this again in 6 months.
Our Landlord, James, spoils her rotten! He has purchased a box of treats that he keeps in his office, so that she can come see him every morning and get her treat! She goes to his door before he is even here! She really likes him. She is extremely lovable. She loves hugs and cuddles!
She also loves to go on walks/runs, sometimes we do both, and other times she tries to drag me! She still doesn't answer to her name really - but it's getting better and I do have her enrolled in obedience school for the end of the month. She does sit and shake, and sometimes she gets a bit excited about the shaking and tries to pry the treat out of your hands.
We all love her and she's made a great addition to our home.
The kids are both doing very well in school and looking very forward to 1/2 term...me - I look forward to the sleeping in part of it! :) Hopefully, they won't fight too much. We've parent/teacher meetings next week. Ashlynn has made Student Council and joined the Chess club. Brier is excelling in math, doing very well in his reading, and beginning to enjoy writing more and more. They both really enjoyed the little bit of snow that we had. Ashlynn made a snowman - his head fell off. Brier made a boulder - it's still standing...frozen.
We are all getting better at Mario Cart Wii - that is seriously addictive, but we have a good time with it. David's began taking classes again and is actually taking it in the classroom, which he likes, but man does he hate homework! :) I found a scrapbook store!!! Yep, I did. Right behind the pet store...AWESOME! Lady and I go for several walks a day and we play in the back garden and visit Janet and James and anybody else we can find.
All in all, life in England is going well. We are planning our trip to Italy and are looking very forward to that.
CHEERS!
