We hope you all had a Merry Christmas! And we hope that you all got your gifts...about the Christmas Cards - they are coming...they just kinda are LATE - go figure. What made me think I could move to England and make 108 Christmas Cards and have them out on time is beyond me!
Anyway - we celebrated New Years Eve, here in England - right in our own little Village and had a wonderful time. We were actually VERY lazy and didn't get around to doing anything til well after 10 p.m. The kids played the WII and we went next door, to ring in the New Year with the other Villagers...one whose child is a Friend of Brier's so he decided to go over to our house (next door) and play with Brier - then he ended up staying the night - which was fine. We took some pictures and had an all around good time - maybe a little more than needed...hehe.
It was rather different though, you know in the States we watch the ball drop from Time Square on the T.V. Here they watch Big Ben and then fireworks come off the London Eye! It's awesomely crazy! If "awesomely" is even a word. We had these party poppers that we all popped when the clock struck 12, after that everyone (British thing - I assume - cause I'd never experienced it) went to each person and wished them a Happy New Year and placed a Kiss on their cheek. WARNING: If you are not careful or paying attention they will kiss your lips - no it did not happen to me - I was lucky warned. THANK YOU JESSICA! After that you get in a line and hold hands criss-cross like and sing this song, no I don't know what it is...nor do I know the words but it was fun and it felt like one big happy family. It was great - I loved it. Here are a few photos...I'll have more soon - Jessica took a bunch!
David also drove for Airmen Against Drunken Driving that night - so he made his "CHEERS" with a can of coke (YUCK!) And he was up til like 5 a.m. Of course I went to bed at 3 a.m. after chatting with my Mom on the phone (who I think was enjoying it way to much - but I still beat her to 2009!), then I talked to Christy (twice and she was enjoying it too) and then I called and talked to Jenny forever I think ... not really sure on that, but whatever. It was nice to get to talk to everyone. I enjoyed it.
After I woke up, shortly after 9 a.m. (gotta love kids) Brier & I took Christien home and then I talked with Jessica & Calitha for quite awhile. We are all doing this 21-Day-Detox, I'm blogging about this 21 day journey on my other blog. Click here to read about it.
Anyway - that's what we've been up to here in England. It's actually REALLY cold now and we have a slight amount of snow...but it's freezing! I do NOT like being cold...Hot baths are a wonderful thing.
Of course we're not getting out much yet...it's just too cold - but we are all 4 having a blast with that WII! Brier has made it to the PRO level on bowling - he thinks he is hot stuff. Ashlynn thinks she's the best driver on Mario Cart - wait til David shows her a thing or two! It gets really funny!!!
