It's day 3 of unpacking our home and there are still items missing, that possibly will continue to be missing. We had to go buy some silverware to get by with because ours is not here. I had such a pretty little silver silverware holder too - not them dange plastic ones haha. However, I didn't see anything like that last night at the BX, so we again have a plastic one. Rumor is Wal-mart.com will become our best friend. I need to learn the buisnesses that do not charge to ship to APO's.
Our living room is almost completely unpacked, we have more wall space than we did in our last home and I'm not quite sure just yet where I'd like to hang things or put things. We know where 2 paintings go pretty much, one above the fireplace and one above our bed - when we finally get it put together! Which will hopefully be sometime Wednesday.
Our dinning room still looks like a bomb went off in there, everything travels throught that room, and if we don't know what we're doing with it, it seems to end up in there as well. Amazingly enough we have been able to eat at our table.
The kitchen is at a stand still. It still has things all over the counter, but I'm thinking where I want to put it all. I have less drawer space here than our last house, but that's okay I like this house better. I may have to get some little baskets or something to put a few things in, but it will all work itself out - in time. I think I need to make labels and put on the cabinets for a while - til we learn where things are. Thing is my label maker is in the unpacked room - which would be my scrapbook room. So we will see, I aslo think I'm out of labels and I didn't order those from walmart last night! Dang it!!! haha
The office is still in boxes - maybe David will tackle that today. He's been rather busy putting furniture together and hauling the cardboard boxes and paper away to the dump, and making friends with everyone in the Village. My social butterfly - he always is. He knows more about this place than anyone person should know in 3 days time. :) Apparently, everything you need to know can be learned at the local pub. He knows so many people's names, and which ones are American's and which are not, and who's been here the longests, how old the pub is, who knows how to get to places, and on and on...and he learned it all at the Pub. He continually comes back in the house - with new, "news".
Ashlynn helped David put her dresser together, she was building the drawers. The pictures will be on the slideshow for you. She is going to be so multi-talented. She'll be able to take care of herself very well someday.
There is still a box spring in the hall - I guess we're going to donate it, rather than store it.
Upstairs, Ashlynn and Brier's rooms are probably the most unpacked rooms - although Brier as literally destroyed his! Toys, toys, and more toys everywhere! Our bedroom - is unpacked, put away is the problem. Alot of things went in that Armour - and we currently can not use our Armour, so we're going have to do a little figuring or something. David is still sleeping so I'm unable to figure out that issue just yet. I'll move on to something else til he gets up. I need to unpack the bathroom today I guess - so that might just be where I start.
I really need a decorator - like Sarah - to help me figure out where to put all my pictures and things, cause this - yeah it could take a while. haha
Anyway - we're still unpacking, and can't wait to be done unpacking - but today we have to go grocery shopping, so we can eat this week. Grocery shopping will probably occur every week, the freezer is small and we don't have a stand up one anymore! Not sure where we'd have put it, but I sure am going to miss that thing.
We need to unpack our Utility room too, washer and dryer will arrive on Wed. Amen! We won't have to go on base to do laundry! I almost have a home put together I can feel it...now if I just had that decorator :)
Well, off I go - back to the cardboard & paper. Talk to you soon.
~T~
P.S. I forgot - this morning there was a Village newsletter slipped through our mail slot - in the door - it's quite the interesting reading material. There's a Pilates class but it's 30 pounds....thats like $60 for 5 weeks!!! YIKES
