35 Days to Go...

...well 4 days down, 35 to go. This writing it out seems to make it feel slower, yet when I think about it 35 days really isn't that much longer is it? Soon David will be here and after that I'm sure time will fly. I'm still excited, still can't wait to have my own home back, with my own things and what not - but I think I'm a little more relaxed today, so that's a plus. We went to town this morning and got things we needed and forgot things we needed. Jim & I together don't make too good of a grocery list I guess. I thought I had it all wrote down, but he kept adding things faster than I could keep up. While we we're there the kids noticed a game stop! I didn't even know they had one in town. Anyway - they wanted to get a new game for their game boys and I'd been telling them for a while that I would get them one, I just never saw a game stop, or forgot to stop one. So we went in and we got 4 games, all pretty cheap. So now they have a few more to play. However, we get home and Ashlynn says I can't find my game boy - later this evening when talking to Mom I asked if there was a little green case there. Of course there was, so now we know where Ashlynn's game boy is...right along with my boots! After that we grabbed some lunch and headed home. I spent the afternoon talking with my sister and 2 friends on IM, while Jim took a nap and the kids played. Ashlynn has taught Brier to ride her bike really well. He can now start and stop by himself. He still crashes from time to time, but he's making great progress and he doesn't give up easily. He'd still be out there riding it if it weren't for the bugs and it being dark. That was the first thing he wanted to do this morning, ride that bike some more. We had a friend that was over here working on the yard and stuff for Jim take the training wheels off Brier's old bike and raise the handlebars for Ashlynn. Her bike actually sits lower than Briers and he can touch the ground with his feet. He can't do that on his, plus I don't want him to crash and hit the bar. I know it will happen eventually - but no reason to rush it. However, Ashlynn's knees were hitting the handlebars on his bike so we had to raise those. She doesn't like his bike as much cause it doesn't have hand brakes the way hers does. I guess this means once we get to England and get them new bikes we will have to ensure that hers has hand brakes haha. I watched them ride for a while and took a few pictures. I'd upload them but the cord to my camera I'm afraid is either packed on a boat or with my husband one. I'm not sure. So if my camera gets to full I'll have to go have disc's made I guess. Oh well. It happens to me, nearly every year :). The kids went to VBS again tonight, it was the last night. Tomorrow night is the program. Anyway - they did go ahead and ride with Lisa. The girl that was causing trouble last night had to sit in the front and so since they were separated the kids were okay with it. They had a great time, learning about ways to serve Jesus and about a missionary that came to talk to them. Ashlynn was really excited about her. They also had this contest going on who could raise the most offering, girls or boys? Well, yesterday the boys beat the girls pretty bad. They were 12 to 24. However, the girls came back with force tonight and beat the boys by $30! Ashlynn was so excited. The girls had $83 and the boys $53. They are giving all the money to the missionary that came to speak to them. I'm glad they had a good time tonight. It was fun to listen to them tell me about different ways to serve Jesus, and as Mom I had to add a little - like "keeping your room clean" :) Maybe they'll remember that! haha They'd probably tell me to take my own advice, truth be known. Oh well...I try. I guess the funniest part of today was Jim and his hired help, just a kid that comes over and helps out. They'd gone out to the garden picked a watermelon and 2 cantaloupe. They decided to cut open the watermelon and see how good it was. It was pretty good, but then they started spitting the seeds at each other and I was sitting in the middle of them!!! Needless to say I moved and watched. I was just waiting for Jim's dentures to go flying out his mouth and smack Brian in the head. That would have been too funny - if it had happened. It was funny enough watching an ol'e bird like Jim spit watermelon seeds at someone! I'm on to the second book in the Baxter Family Drama (Karen Kingsbury) book that I'm reading. I've not gotten to far today - talked on the phone and played with the horse to much this evening to read. They are building some horse stalls out here, started today and this horse is NOSEY! After they left, she had to go check out all the wood and where they'd been diggin' and what not. Funny old thing. My MIL calls her "Meggie" and I like that 10 times better than "Chessey" which I refuse to call her. So I think I will call her Meggie too. Jim's grand-daughter Megan is the one the horse belongs to and the one who named it. She has a dog named Zeplin too. Strange I know. Every since I gave Meggie an apple, every time I go out there she thinks I have one - so she comes right to me. She's kinda grouchy in her old age, but other than that I think she's a pretty lovable horse - she sure likes to be petted and talked to. She knows the sound of Jim's voice really good. Every time he spoke loud enough for her to hear she'd poke her head around the garage and look at him. So funny. Anyway - that's about it for today. If any of you read my other blogs I updated one and the one titled My God Box. Also, if you are reading my blogs - leave me some comments, some feedback something! I love that and if you have a blog let me know and I'll read it and leave you comments too. Anyway - its again past my bedtime...1108, so I guess I'll call it a night. God Bless you.
