Time is nearing...

Time is nearing closer and closer. Yesterday, I began a massive cleaning of our home – I’m far from finished. I started with one side of the kitchen and worked from that side all the way around the entire kitchen. I cleaned windows and not just “washing the glass”, I cleaned the inside/outside and wiped all the dirt and grim out of the frame. I also dusted the wood framing of the window itself. I then moved the fridge, in which I cleaned from top to bottom and took everything out of the inside and cleaned as well. Next I moved on to the cabinets and sink. I moved everything out and wiped the shelving down, then I dusted the cabinets. When I replaced items into the cabinets I put them in a order to where it would be easy to tell the movers that “everything to the right goes on the ship and everything to the left does not”. It will go last with the necessity items that go on the plane. My kitchen is so sparkling clean that at this moment other than a covered table it doesn’t even look lived in. I cleaned out the oven (a job I have a high dislike for). Tomorrow, I need to wipe down the top of the stove and the overhead – then I will have completed my way around the entire kitchen. I parted with items today, put them in yard sale boxes and told some friends of things that were for sale incase they were interested. I’ve sold 3 items already! To finish off the kitchen I need to sweep and mop it and clean off that table that collects everything…but for now it looks good, it feels good, and one room is basically ready for moving day.

Tomorrow also includes the living room, a going away party for the kids, and a friend is coming over to do a dry run with my hair before our vow renewal ceremony on Friday. I’m so excited, I can’t wait…but at the same time I have so much stuff yet to finish. David’s Mom will arrive on Thursday evening and I want the house in tiptop shape. She has allergies and is allergic to cats, (yes we have a cat). Lilly will be in a kennel while she is here, but I’m hoping to collect a lot of cat hair in my cleaning so that Marilyn will be comfortable while she is here. Not only that this allows me to get a lot done before company, before we renew our vows, and before the kids go to Missouri. Then maybe just maybe David and I can have a day of relaxation before I head off on my mission trip! Urban Plunge baby, here I come one last time.

So moving day is getting closer every minute…I’m very excited, I’m ready to be done, I’m going to miss a lot of things and a lot of people, so we’re also spending as much time as we can with friends. I am hoping this week sometime to take the kids around town, asking them “what will you miss the most?” and photographing those things, areas, places, along with my children. I don’t want them to ever forget the blessings we’ve received while living in Ohio. I know how much they are going to miss it here, so I want to help them preserve their memories as best as I can. It’s part of my job…as Mom.

Okay, well my body aches, I would die for a massage…but I guess I’ll just go to bed, get some rest, so I can go to Church tomorrow and start the day off on the right foot…and hopefully get a lot more accomplished.

Have a blessed night.
