Well, my Ashlynn (age 9) is entering a contest. The students all wrote poems that are being put into a book and the contest is to draw the cover for the book, with the title "I'm at school today, but my mind is so far away..."
Ashlynn has spent all week perfecting her masterpiece. I can not count out many times she sketched this drawing. Yesterday, she got so frustrated with it she was crying, but tonight we sat down together ... I talked and she sketched, painted, colored, and stamped.
Now, I know I'm her Mama, and I've a biased opinion here, but I believe she's actually got a shot at winning this! She is feeling very confident and if she doesn't win...I am going to cry for her! She has worked so hard and put everything she has into it. It's due tomorrow, I don't know what will happen if school is canceled, because they are on 1/2 term as of this weekend! If there is no school we plan to email it to the teacher.
However, would you please join me in praying for her - not that she wins, but that she accepts whatever is to come graciously and proud. She should be very proud of what she's created. I'm very proud of her. She can cry all she wants later, if need be, but please pray for her. She is just so excited and I know it will break her heart if she don't win. It will break mine!!!

When will you know if she won? That is such a great picture! Even more so for someone her age!
