Night at the Pub

Oh boy, where do I start? We decided to enjoy a meal at the pub this evening, mainly because we didn't feel like cooking. It was a pleasant evening, and the pub wasn't very busy yet. We've gotten to know the landlords of the pub quite well over the last couple of weeks. Of course, it helps that they're our neighbors. So, we enjoy our meal without much excitement and get ready to leave. I stay and pay the bill while Tonya and the kids walk home (considering it's right next door). While standing there I get into a conversation with some gentleman from the Stud (Thoroughbred breeding ranch) that is just around the corner. Basic conversation, nothing real special. After a few minutes I head to the house.

After a bit I venture out the front door and the same gentleman are outside. Once again, we start talking about horses and a possible tour of the ranch (I'll use the term ranch for the benefit of my fellow Americans). The conversation continued and I was pulled inside to get some phone numbers. From there, the party started. I was kidnapped. haha I wasn't even allowed to walk next door and tell Tonya where I was (although, she would have definitely figured it out). I was handed a cell phone to call her. Jeez, I could've yelled from where I was and she would have heard me. Oh yeah, did I mention that a pint was ordered on my behalf? Even though, I requested only a half pint. haha

So, as the conversations continued I come to realize that I was talking to the owner of the ranch. He's only in town for a few days. Very nice gentleman. (Keep in mind these ranches are probably multi-million dollar operations) The family and I have been invited on a personal tour of the place during feeding time, where we will be able to go around the entire area and see every mare, foal, and yearling. Oh yeah, and the Stallion. The kids are going to be treated like little treasures. It's gonna be quite the experience.
Anyway, after about an hour of laughing and enjoying British humor, it was finally determined that we will be getting a personal tour of the place this weekend. Oh yeah, the owner is giving us the tour. He wanted to make sure we come on Saturday because he leaves on Sunday. Wow! What a night.

This is one of many experiences that I've had at the Pub. It almost tops the night I went over there to borrow a can opener (that's another story for another time). haha
