England, Day 7, 9-19-08
Today is “Break Day” taking a break from looking for homes, we need it. However, we did get a call this morning from the lady that showed us the first 2 homes we looked at and she said she just received a new listing and thought it would be what we were looking for, would we like to take a look? So we agreed – even though we were still kinda hoping/praying on the home we saw last night and on break from looking.
The drive to the Village was not to bad, very enjoyable, actually. The home is a 4 bedroom, with a study, kitchen, dining room, living room, and a utility room (most homes have the washer and dryer in the kitchen). The dinning room and living room both have French doors leading to the patio. It comes with stove and a UK fridge (very small) – but FMO will supply us with a fridge. Oh and 3 of the rooms have closets!
Anyway – it has 3 toilets and 2 showers, a beautiful patio, and an amazing backyard! It’s big, green, edged in roses of every color, and there is a little river (creek) at the end of the yard with ducks! The neighbors to the right have horses! So needless to say we loved it!!! We were the first people to look at it and we told her we’d take it!
So now we are praying that everything goes smoothly, all the paperwork stuff, housing from the base has to go and approve it – so it’s not final yet…but we did find one, we did say yes, and we’re praying it all works out. If so we will be moving in as early as this next weekend. Only 1 more week in Temporary Lodging – can I get a hallelujah?!
There’s just want thing, the neighbors to the left, well it’s really not a neighbor…it’s the PUB (bar). I’m not sure of God’s plan or idea here, giving us a home right next to the Pub – but okay – I’m game…I’ll bite. The Village is very small and seems to be rather quite, so we don’t foresee any problems living there – it just seems very ironic, doesn’t it? Guess they do have homes for rednecks out here!
We have to find out about the schools, to see where they are, figure out which one the kids will go to, whether or not I will have to take them to and from, or if there will be a bus…we don’t know any of that yet. And most likely we will have to go buy them uniforms – as they do wear uniforms in the British schools. We will figure more out on Monday, or so.
We will also need to start looking for a second car – we’ve got a few to call about. We’d like to get one from military personnel, because it would help them out. Usually if they are selling it, it means they are PCSing somewhere else, maybe even back to the states.
We are still taking a break for the day. We are going to go to a park or something…so I don’t know if there will be much to add to this blog later or not…but either way I’ll post it soon.
Anyway – keep praying and thank you all! We miss you all.
